LA Pride is thrilled to be a nonprofit partner for the Trans Pride 2024 5K Fun Run followed by a picnic, raffle, and resource exchange, in Griffith Park!
It’s going to be an epic day of trans joy to raise funds for a groundbreaking documentary, Transcontinental Run, which follows trans athlete Cal Dobbs as he ran 2,800 miles across America last year to fight for the inclusion of transgender people in sports, and access to gender-affirming healthcare. During the most aggressively anti-trans year on record, Cal became the first trans person ever to run across America, and found pockets of joyful trans community, even in some of the most hostile places. The documentary is made by an all-trans production team.
All proceeds from the 5K are going to finishing funds, to help them complete post production on the film.
In-Person 5K participants will receive a commemorative Trans Pride 5K medal, and a complementary pair of Superfeet Insoles.
Not a runner? It’s ok, come out and walk. Or strut, stroll, sashay, or roll – you do you! Trans Pride is 100% inclusive and welcoming of all ages, abilities, and bodies. This event is about community and joy!
But the day doesn’t end there. Enjoy some fun in the sun at the picnic, starting at 10 AM, featuring trans-owned food vendors. Then, check out the Trans Resource Exchange, and get in on a huge raffle with thousands of dollars in prizes! All are welcome, and you don’t have to be doing the 5K to enjoy the picnic!
Don’t live in the LA area? No problem! You can join virtually from anywhere in the world by choosing the VIRTUAL sign up button. (Sorry, the medal and insoles are only available for in-person participants.)
Even if you’re busy that day, you can also contribute directly to the film by making a donation. Read more HERE.
