    About

    Ready to make a difference?

LA Pride is more than a parade and a party in June. Pride means supporting each other, giving back, and taking care of our community. Last year, we launched PRIDE MAKES A DIFFERENCE, our 365 initiative to support the LGBTQ+ community of Los Angeles through donation drives, acts of services, and volunteering events.

Check out what we have planned for Pride month, and all yearlong right here. Our calls-to-action in the areas of food and housing insecurity, mental wellness, career and business, and youth & elders give everyone a way to make a difference for our LGBTQ+, and other communities of Los Angeles.

Our Four Pillars of Giving for 2022

    Food & Housing

Food and housing are human rights

In 2021, Pride Makes a Difference filled almost 1,ooo bags of groceries for food insecure folks in the LA area. Each bag contained at least 10 staple items, with many bags containing even more. More than 10,500 food items were ultimately donated, bagged, and distributed.

In 2022, we intend to continue the work we started in 2021.

    Career & Business

Sharing job & career support in a post-COVID world

According to a recent university study, COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted employment for LGBTQ+ workers, younger Black people, HIV-positive folks, and cis gay men, resulting in higher rates of job loss. We’ll be offering a job fair this June, produced and hosted by our community partner, Randstad USA.

    Mental Health

We care deeply about our community’s mental wellness

The LGBTQ+ community is stronger and more resilient than ever but that doesn’t mean a little self-care isn’t in order. We’ll offer ways to de-stress, lower anxiety, and get a decent night’s sleep with our friends from Calm.

    Youth & Elders

Our future and our past coming together

We’re ending Pride Month with a party at Triangle Square, the country’s first and largest affordable housing complex for low-income LGBTQ+ seniors, right here in LA. More details to come!

    JUNE 30: Job Fair

Two years of COVID have not been kind to many of us in the LGBTQ+ community. Our friends at Randstad are helping us do something about it. Focusing on our pillar of Career & Business, we’re organizing a job fair featuring valuable resume advise (who doesn’t need that!), interviews with Randstad staff, and donated interview clothes to help make that great first impression!

Job Fair attendees have the option to speak with Randstad employees to do on-the-spot interviews as well as practice interviews – depending on what you need. If you’re looking to be hired at a job site immediately, their Staffing Managers can assist with the onboarding process.

If you’re looking for more of a career consultation, Randstad’s experts can provide resumé help and interview tips. What an opportunity, and it’s all FREE!

Volunteers are needed for both preparation on June 29, and the day-of event on June 30. (If you are attending the job fair as a participant, you don’t need to register, just come!)

Learn more about volunteering to help out at the event, and register by clicking the button below.

    ALL MONTH: Amazon Smile

Use our Amazon Wish List to donate goods all month long, benefiting a variety of local and some national nonprofit organizations that work with underserved groups within and outside of our community.

Community nonprofits and service organizations such as Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS) and Casa de Zulma, the first publicly funded bridge housing project for transgender women in LA County, will directly benefit from your generous donation.

    In-Store Donating

International Transgender Day of Visibility is a moment to recognize and uplift trans and gender expansive people in our community.

Visibility matters, and it has to be matched with care, safety, and real support 🏳️‍⚧️

That’s the intention behind LA Pride’s Trans Self-Care Sunday. Creating space for people to feel seen, supported, and connected to affirming resources and community.

The response this year, alongside our community partners, made it clear just how needed these spaces truly are 🫶
