Co-Hosts of “UniTy 2024,” A celebration of trans and nonbinary communities in LA
LOS ANGELES, CA (Oct 22, 2024) – Christopher Street West Association (CSW) the producers of the LA Pride Festival & Parade, was honored to partner with The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law to co-host the annual UniTy Awards gala, a celebration of trans and nonbinary activists in Los Angeles.
CSW Operations work with the Williams Institute and donated in-kind and promotional support to the event that recognized Toni Newman, Director of the National Coalition for Justice and Equality Across Movements NMAC, Kathy Watt, Executive Director at Van Ness Recovery House, and Claudia Estrada, well-known activist, artist, and community leader.
About Christopher Street West (CSW)/LA Pride:
Christopher Street West (CSW), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, organized the world’s first permitted LGBT parade on June 28, 1970, to commemorate the Stonewall Rebellion on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. Over 50 years later, CSW remains an active voice for the LGBTQ+ community of Greater Los Angeles. While best known for producing the LA Pride Parade & Festival, they also organize, sponsor or support community events throughout the year, and work with their nonprofit, philanthropic, and community partners to further diversity, equity, and inclusion.
