Now in its 4th year, LA Pride organizes toy drive to benefits transgender and gender-diverse youth, and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Dec 9, 2024) – Christopher Street West Association (CSW) the producers of the LA Pride Festival & Parade, organized its annual toy donation drive to brighten the holidays for the families served by The Laurel Foundation, a Pasadena-base nonprofit whose mission to is “improve the well-being of transgender/gender-diverse youth, and children, youth, and families affected by HIV/AIDS, through year-round mental health, social support, educational and youth development programs.”

As it has for the past four years, the staff of CSW/LA Pride created an Amazon gift registry that allowed donors to chose a toy, and have to shipped directly to the Laurel offices.

Additionally this year, LA Pride’s community partners, the LA Dodgers, donated bobbleheads, ball caps, Pride Night jerseys, Hello Kitty novelty fanny packs, and a mountain of plush toys purchased by their staff.

In line with CSW’s ethos of volunteerism and community engagement, a few dedicated CSW board, its staff, and parade director also volunteered their time on Sunday morning to act as party elves and help set up, and create gift bags for each family.

Through CSW’s support, 30 families and nearly 75 children enjoyed an afternoon of games, gifts, a vist from Santa, and food, all in a safe and inclusive environment. The event is a reminder that LA Pride can make a difference, all year-round.

CSW wishes everyone a safe and festive holiday season!
