#JUSTBE AT LA PRIDE

There’s No Single Definition of Pride

Pride means different things to different people. It’s about being proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community; standing up for equality and human rights; being role models for younger generations; and, for many, it’s about simply looking forward to an annual celebration where we put our differences aside and stand together as one community.

Regardless of your definition of Pride – there’s no right or wrong answer – we almost all can agree that it’s a time to reflect on where we’ve started as a community, where we are today, and where we’re going in the future. It’s equally an opportunity to commemorate the many brave souls who came before us, who fought day and night for our rights and freedoms – all in the spirit of justice and equality.

It’s also a time to let our hair down among friends, family, colleagues, and other like-minded souls and embrace the joy of celebrating the unmatched diversity of our strong, supportive, and caring community.

For this reason, we believe that Pride is inherently personal. It’s a collection of ideals and values that, at their very core, are shared by many, but are manifested in different ways by each and every person as their own truth – whether you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or stand with us as one of our amazing allies.

It’s not our role to tell you how to feel or how to act or how to believe during Pride. Your experience of Pride is completely up to you – and that’s a beautiful thing. However, we want you to feel empowered. We want to encourage you to find, embody, share, express, and celebrate what Pride authentically means to you. All in your own unique way.

Helping people “be” their genuine version of Pride is our 2018 goal.

After all, that is the true spirit of Pride.

A Will Call option will not be available for Advance tickets. This does not apply to International ticket purchasers (see more details below).

Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets are available for purchase online or at the Festival Box Office all weekend long. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the Box Office.

I don’t live in the U.S. I can’t buy my ticket online. What do I do?

We wish we could offer online ticket purchasing for international customers at this time, but there are some logistical challenges that just make it difficult. But no worries, you can still purchase a ticket in advance in two ways: 1) email the official ticketing provider of the LA Pride Festival, See Tickets at help@seetickets.us; or 2) call See Tickets at +1 323 908 0607. They are available via phone Monday – Saturday from 8am – 7pm PST. Please do not contact the LA Pride office for ticket purchases. We’ll just refer you to See Tickets, as all ticketing transactions get processed through them.

Can I buy my ticket the day of the event?

Single or multi-day tickets can be purchased at the LA Pride Festival Box Office, subject to availability and capacity.

I ordered my tickets online, but have a few questions.

Our ticketing provider, SeeTickets, can help you with any ticketing related questions. Go to https://support.seetickets.us/hc/en-us.

What is an RFID wristband?

The LA Pride Festival has joined the likes of other festivals around the country by using RFID wristband technology in place of paper or digital tickets. The wristband has encrypted technology that gets scanned whenever entering Festival grounds. As a part of this system, all Festival attendees must wear a wristband on their wrist – and leave it attached – for the days you’ve purchased to attend the Festival. Wristbands that have been removed over the course of the weekend – and consequently destroyed as a result of that action – will no longer be accepted as valid entry into the Festival, thus requiring you to purchase a new ticket.

When will I get my wristband?

If you purchased your tickets online by May 31, 2018, you will receive your wristbands in the mail no later than June 4, 2018.

For all international ticket purchases and online tickets purchased after May 31, 2018, your wristbands will be available for Will Call pick-up at the “North Gate” entrance at Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards. Please be sure to have a photo ID and the credit card you used to purchase your tickets on you; we must be able to verify your identity in order to provide your wristbands to you.

What if I have not received my wristband?

After purchasing your tickets online, you will receive an order confirmation from SeeTickets on behalf of LA Pride. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please reach out to SeeTickets for help: https://support.seetickets.us/hc/en-us.

I got my wristband! Now what?

YAY!! That means you’re going to the 2018 LA Pride Festival soon!

Treat your wristband like cash. Each wristband is good for entrance by one person only and is non-transferable. Once you have put on your wristband, DO NOT REMOVE it or attempt to loosen it! Improperly applied wristbands will delay your entrance to the Festival and destroyed wristbands (from attempted removal) will be considered invalid. We will not accept damaged or tampered wristbands as entry into the Festival. If your wristband is removed by Festival security for any reason, it WILL NOT be replaced. Thank you in advance for helping us keep the security lines moving smoothly – and for making the 2018 LA Pride experience a safe one for all!

I lost my wristband. What do I do?

Wristbands will not be replaced if lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. You will need to purchase a new wristband online or at the LA Pride Festival Box Office.

Can I upgrade my wristband?

Yes, you will be able to upgrade your wristband. More details coming soon.

I didn’t buy my ticket at lapride.org. Is that okay?

If you want 100% confidence in your ticket purchase, you should only purchase your tickets at lapride.org through our official ticketing partner, See Tickets.

LA Pride does not support the resale of LA Pride Festival wristbands or can verify the validity of wristbands resold through third-party vendors like Craigslist, eBay, StubHub, etc.

We’ve also seen a number of instances where people try to sell their wristbands to others if they are no longer able to attend one of the two Festival days. Unfortunately, removing an LA Pride Festival wristband automatically destroys it and, thus, invalidates it. Our security will assure that wristbands are secured properly around everyone’s wrists for entry into the Festival.

Damaged or tampered wristbands will not be considered as valid for entry into the Festival in any way. If you are caught with a re-used wristband, you will not be allowed entry. No exceptions. We do this for your safety and for the safety of everyone attending the 2018 LA Pride Festival.

Will there be parking? What’s the best way to get to and from the LA Pride Festival?

We do not provide not provide parking. We highly recommend taking public transportation as both traffic and parking in West Hollywood during the LA Pride weekend are more difficult than usual. More specific details around transportation will be shared as the LA Pride weekend approaches.

Is the LA Pride Festival an all-ages event?

Yes, the LA Pride Festival is an all-ages event. Bring the kids! However, *you must be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages on Festival grounds and 18+ to enter certain exhibitions.

*Proper identification and a 21+ wristband is required to purchase alcoholic beverages

Is there a dress code?

As the 2018 campaign theme – #JUSTBE – suggests, we want you to express your individuality and represent what Pride means to you in your own, unique way! However, because this is an all-ages event, we must draw the line at full nudity. Private parts must be covered up!

Will there be food?

The Festival will have tons delicious food and beverage to choose from, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for those with specific dietary requirements.

Cash or credit?

Tickets can be purchased at the Festival Box Office with a credit card or cash. All bars and food vendors inside the Festival accept both forms of payment as well.

I gotta stay connected. Will there be WiFi?

The LA Pride Festival will have free WiFi available. Details to be provided as the weekend approaches.

What if it rains?

The LA Pride Festival will go on, rain or shine. Fortunately, we’re in Southern California, which means a major rainstorm in June is highly unlikely (but always a possibility). Let’s be honest, though, when has a little rain every stopped the LGBTQ+ community from celebrating Pride? (Answer: never!)

Are containers allowed in the LA Pride Festival?

We do not allow outside food or beverage containers into Festival grounds.

What about pets?

Due to the number of people at the LA Pride Festival, we can only accommodate service animals. We love pets just as much as you do, but we love your pet’s safety even more.
