Christopher Street West Announces Dates for LA Pride Festival and #ResistMarch

West Hollywood, CA – Christopher Street West (CSW), in collaboration with the City of West Hollywood, the City of Los Angeles, and its community partners, is thrilled to continue its storied history of celebrating LGBTQ+ activism and empowering the LGBTQ+ community across Southern California.

Now in its 47th year, the organization will continue to host the inclusive LA Pride Festival on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 – a weekend-long event with live music, activations, and food and drink from local eateries. Past performances have included Ke$ha, Jennifer Hudson, Krewella, Fifth Harmony, Charlie XCX, Tinashe, Daya, Danity Kane, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Ciara.

Early-bird weekend passes are now available for $30 – a significant discount from 2016 and only $10 more than a single-day ticket. Prices will go up when the talent line-up is officially announced in late April. To secure early-bird pricing tickets, go here.

To stay up to date on our lineup announcement, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The most noticeable change to this year’s programming is the #ResistMarch on Sunday, June 11. For this year only, in place of the annual LA Pride Parade, CSW will lead a human rights march starting in Hollywood – where CSW organized the world’s first permitted gay rights march in 1970 – and ending in West Hollywood. This is a free event being held in solidarity with the National Equality March for Unity and Pride in Washington, DC on the same day. To participate, donate, or get updates, visit resistmarch.org.

Additionally, in the lead up to the LA Pride Festival and #ResistMarch, CSW plans to host a number of events throughout “Pride Week,” helping to amplify the City of West Hollywood’s “One City, One Pride” community initiative. Visit lapride.org regularly to see the latest updates to our calendar of events.

About Christopher Street West (CSW) & LA Pride

Christopher Street West (CSW), a 501(c)3 non-profit, organized the world’s first permitted parade advocating for gay rights on June 28, 1970, as a response to and in commemoration of the Stonewall Rebellion on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. Since then, we have built a rich history as an active voice for the LGBTQ+ community across the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Today, we continue to produce the globally-recognized LA Pride Parade and Festival every June in the City of West Hollywood. We also organize a number of events throughout the year with our non-profit, philanthropic, community, and corporate partners. Visit lapride.org for more information.

About #RESISTMARCH

The #Resist March includes people of every race, religion, philosophical belief, immigration status, gender and sexual orientation. Our human rights march is a peaceful declaration of resistance against forces that intend take away hard-won basic human rights. We resist forces that would divide us. We resist those who would take our liberty. We resist homophobia, xenophobia, sexism and racism. Join us at 8am in Los Angeles, on June 11 at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland prepared to march 3.2 miles peacefully. Bring your signs, your enthusiasm, your authentic selves and show up ready to march! We encourage larger groups to meet at a designated area of their choice and walk together. For updated information please visit resistmarch.org.

CSW engages with event production firm JJ|LA in the production and management of the LA Pride Festival & Parade and, in 2017, for the #ResistMarch.
