Parade Banner Carriers walk in front of vehicles, contingients to better identify them.
Parade Banner Carriers:

Parade Wheel Monitors walk along side of vehicles and floats in the parade to ensure that spectators are kept at a safe distance. Wheel monitors are needed for each side of the float or vehicle.
Parade Vehicle Wheel Monitors:


Parade Set-Up volunteers work closely with parade supervisors to manage and decorate honoree vehicles; direct entries in staging areas to ensure safe and orderly maneuvering among vehicles, and staff various support booths such as parade check-in stations, information booths, volunteer check-in booth, communication and media booths and honoree viewing tent. Also includes staffing check-off once parade begins and assisting in directing parade entries from various staging streets to help maintain line-up order.
Parade Staging/Setup:


Parade Breakdown/Strike volunteers direct parade contingents to designated breakdown areas at the end of the parade route and work with monitors to manage traffic flow and ensure that parade entries are able to enter their designated breakdown areas. Prior to parade step-off, they will assist in directing floats, trailers and other such support vehicles to their designated waiting areas.
Parade Breakdown/Strike:


Motor Pool: Includes volunteer drivers to drive parade dignitary cars, drivers for transportation vans, delivery of water and refreshments to volunteers, greeting and directing honorees at parking areas, and other such important tasks that support the parade production. (All volunteer drivers must have a California driver's license and proof of insurance.)
Motor Pool:


Parade Roaming Monitors assist with crowd control so as to prevent parade patrons from encroaching on the parade vehicles and contingents. To help with parade pacing if necessary. To be aware of your surroundings and to alert parade authorities of any situation that might require intervention.
Parade Roaming Monitors:


Parade Assistant volunteers should have some phone/computer experience to assist with in-office administrative tasks up to two months prior to the parade. Scheduling is negotiated for work during regular office hours.
